DeFi.Org Accelerator — Full Speed Ahead
The DeFi.org accelerator is now working with our team at Benchmark Protocol at full speed. A week ago we began implementing newly recommended strategies. Following that, we will be having introductions made with the appropriate connections that Binance and Orbs Network are able to leverage for the growth of our ecosystem. We are very excited to see Benchmark expand its reach and connect to other communities in the months ahead. The excitement of seeing real use-case(s) for an elastic supply rebase token is mutual between everyone involved.
How it all began
One of the requirements for being accepted into the Defi.org accelerator program requires projects to have been launched with a fair distribution. That means no exclusive early-access, and no pre-mine to private investors. On November 23rd 2020, the Benchmark Protocol Launchpad went live and ended on December 24, 2020. Reaching a peak TVL of $34m USD, it was one of the largest yield farming fair launches in the DeFi space. No ICO, no IEO, it was pure organic interest with fair distribution.
Our community spreads across telegram, discord, reddit, and our fans on twitter. It was indicative to the Defi.org team that our community is very helpful and knowledgeable in the DeFi space. Rebase projects such as ourselves and Ampleforth (whom we respectfully credit for starting it all off) are hidden away in a niche within a niche. While we take for granted the understanding of yield farming, tokenized collateral loans, algorithmic rebasement, elastic supply, etc — the rest of the world is slowly warming up to the innovation. Our official telegram group is a gold mine for assistance, and information. People volunteer their personal time for answering questions, and explaining concepts behind the Benchmark Protocol. There is a thriving community of “farmers” and stakers in the Benchmark Ecosystem that utilize The Press to earn rewards, and increase liquidity for the MARK and xMARK tokens. This is done by delegating liquidity. Liquidity providers (LP’s) are always eager to assist others in joining the myriad of staking pools we have across different blockchains. Community participation is a key metric for the accelerator to consider as they will be endorsing the company and the community behind it.
We would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone in our loyal community for their continued support. — Benchmark Protocol Team
We are very excited to continue working with the team at Defi.org to grow benchmark protocol. We have the rare, and challenging task of championing the case for Elastic Supply rebasing tokens in markets that have never interacted with such things before. We are thrilled to see Benchmark Protocol continue to prove it’s robustness with each passing day. We would like to thank and strongly recommend Orbs Network and Binance for their dedication to the growth of open finance on the blockchain through their accelerator. While we can’t share specific details yet, we will continue working together on paving paths to improving our overall liquidity, exposure to other established investment firms, security audits, exchange listings, and more.
About Benchmark Protocol
Benchmark Protocol mitigates liquidation events and hedges risk with the MARK token; a supply elastic, stablecoin-alternative that connects traditional capital markets to DeFi. The protocol operates as a rules-based utility that dynamically adjusts supply based on the CBOE volatility index (VIX) and deviations from the target metric — equal to 1 Special Drawing Rights (SDR) unit. Employing the SDR creates a larger use case rather than exposure to just one currency; the application of this creates a larger user base and delineated exposure to markets around the world. The DeFi space needs a collateral utility that retains its efficacy, and increases inherent, baseline liquidity during periods of high volatility.
Benchmark is built on the Ethereum blockchain. The MARK token is the native asset in the Benchmark network and provides only the utility value available to it through the Benchmark network.
